The widespread adoption of Web 2.0 related technologies has facilitated user collaboration and knowledge sharing. Thanks to these technologies, collaborative communities are one of the emerging trends on the web. Notable examples of collaborative communities are those in online social networks, where users are able to establish relationships with other users, for purposes that may concern business, entertainment, religion, dating, etc, and also they are able to enforce information sharing based on th
ese relationships.
As such, social networks represent a natural place for collaborative communities. Collaborative tools based on the social networking paradigm, i.e., collaborative social network, are today more and more used not only by single users, but also at the enterprise level to communicate, share information, taking decisions, and doing business. This is in line with the emerging trend known as Enterprise 2.0.

As such, the existence of collaborative social networks that can be used for various reasons creates both interesting opportunities and challenges. The workshop aims to bring together researchers in various disciplines to explore the effect of social networks on collaborative applications. Our ultimate goal is to foster communication and collaboration across disciplines to enable interdisciplinary approaches for collaborative social networks.

CollaborateSN-2009 will be held in conjunction with the 5th International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing, (CollaborateCom-2009), which is jointly sponsored by IEEE Computer Society, Create-Net, and the International Computer Sciences, and Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering (ICST).

We solicit unpublished research papers that address various aspects of online social network based collaborative applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

* Models of privacy and security related to collaborative social networks and social networks
* Social network analysis and mining for collaborative applications
* Access control models and solutions for collaborative social networks
* Studies of user needs and behaviors for various collaborate applications in social networks
* Business models for collaborative social networks
* Trust and Reputation models in collaborative applications
* Knowledge-base management in collaborative social networks
* Interoperability issues in social networks
* Semantic technologies for collaborative social networks
* Decentralized architectures for collaborative social networks

At least one author of an accepted paper must attend the workshop to present the paper. Papers of no-show authors will be removed from the digital library after the conference and their affiliations will receive a notification.

Querying and mining uncertain data has received a lot of attention from the research community in recent years due to the enormous increase of geographically referenced data occasioned by developments in IT, digital mapping and remote sensing. The global expansion of Geo Information Systems emphasizes the importance of developing data driven inductive approaches to geographical analysis and modeling. An important problem is that collected data often is inherently imprecise and may contain incomplete, inaccurate or outdated information. Such data arises particular in dynamic environments. Traditional querying and mining approaches are often inapplicable or may extract misleading or plain wrong information when applied to uncertain data.
Therefore, modern data management solutions coping with uncertain data are very important for numerous spatio-temporal applications such as location-based services. The incorporation of the uncertainty of spatio-temporal data increases the quality of query results. However, new problems arise, such as higher computational complexity and the need for proper representation of probabilistic query results. Thus novel querying methods are required.
Querying and mining uncertain spatio-temporal data requires joint effort from multiple research communities. The aim of this workshop is to provide a unique forum for discussing in depth the challenges, opportunities, techniques and applications on the topic of coping with uncertainty in spatial, temporal and spatio-temporal domains.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following aspects:

- Models for uncertain spatial, temporal and spatio-temporal data
- Managing uncertain spatial, temporal and spatio-temporal data
- Querying uncertain spatial, temporal and spatio-temporal data
- Probabilistic spatial query processing
- Probabilistic stream processing
- Probabilistic similarity search
- Indexing uncertain data
- Mining uncertain spatial, temporal and spatio-temporal data
- Probabilistic spatio-temporal pattern mining
- Managing uncertain data from sensor networks
- Location-based service based on uncertain information
- Privacy preserving and security in spatial and spatio-temporal domains
- Traffic monitoring and prediction

In the spirit of a workshop submission of novel ideas and positions which are not yet ready for archival publication, but are mature enough to sparkle discussion among the attendees are also strongly encouraged.

SUBMISSION INSTUCTIONS:

We welcome submissions of both technical papers and vision/position papers. We have two categories of papers and presentations:

- Full research paper: up to 8 pages (20 min. talk)
- Short technical or vision paper: up to 4 pages (5-10 min. talk)

Authors are invited to submit full, original, unpublished research papers that are not being considered for publication in any other forum. In the spirit of a workshop submission of novel ideas and positions which are not yet ready for archival publication, but are mature enough to sparkle discussion among the attendees are also strongly encouraged. Manuscripts should be submitted in PDF format and formatted using the ACM camera-ready templates available at:

Scope
The design of modern software application systems, especially that of distributed systems is a rather complex and difficult task. With the increasing complexity of software applications the need for infrastructures providing generic middleware and service functionality becomes more eminent. Distributed object standards such as Web Services, CORBA, J2EE, and .NET are currently adopted by various enterprises as fundamental technologies. Consequently, these architectures continue to advance and new functional
ity and services are introduced. The advances in wireless communication, ubiquitous computing and the continued applicability of Moore’s law make new advanced applications - in principle - possible, and such applications can often also be demonstrated in an ad-hoc fashion. However, to offer such applications on a larger scale and to merge them with existing applications and infrastructures is very difficult. ‘Smart’ and ‘context-aware’ systems are great for end-users, if th!
ey are non-intrusive and have user-friendly interfaces, but they are hard to design, maintain and integrate. Design support (e.g. based on MDA, SOA) and system support (e.g., mobile middleware) are necessary to shift/shield application complexity and to ease designers and end-users.

Furthermore, the complexity of today’s applications requires additional approaches to be able to realize an enterprise application time- and cost-saving. This includes the ability to model business processes, business policies, and event-oriented aspects of large systems and express these models through design solutions to address the complexity of enterprise applications and ease software design efforts. In addition, the engineering of complex distributed systems also requires a good understanding of the
problem areas of concern for information systems and business administration, such as process management, supply chain management, security issues, electronic business, etc. These topics need to be addressed in order to deal with the complexity of today’s increasingly dynamic, mobile, cross-organizational, and cross-jurisdictional systems.

In this workshop various aspects of the design and implementation of distributed systems will be discussed. The scope of the presented papers ranges from process improvements, engineering approaches and techniques to applications.

Topics
Possible topics include but are not limited to:

* Software engineering approaches such as process improvements, patterns, methodologies (e.g., MDA), and best practices
* Modelling and meta modelling in the development of distributed systems
* Platforms and infrastructures on top of which complex distributed systems can be deployed, and which take care of lower level or general-purpose functions
* Complexity controlling methods which help to master complexity when designing complex distributed systems
* Integration of Internet of things and enterprise applications
* Software architectures for distributed systems
* Software configuration and deployment of complex distributed systems
* Economical aspects of complex distributed systems (e.g. cost calculation, risk assessment)
* Event-based, publish/subscribe and asynchronous platforms for distributed systems
* Distributed and mobile agents
* Ubiquitous computing and context-aware systems
* Dynamic composition and reconfiguration of distributed systems
* Process-knowledge and semantic services support
* Patterns and frameworks
* Lifecycle management of services and smart things
* Tools and environments
* Experience reports and case studies

Papers must describe original work, and must not have been accepted or submitted for publication elsewhere. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, which will be published by IEEE Computer Society.

Final papers due: November 14th, 2009
Conference / Workshop date: February 15-18, 2010

Submission Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit research and application papers following the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced, including figures and references, using 10 fonts, and number each page. You can confirm the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Author Guidelines URL: http://computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm.

The papers should be submitted electronically via CISIS-10 website (http://www.cisis-conference.eu/). If there is any problem during submission please contact the Workshop Co-Chairs Markus Aleksy (aleksy@uni-mannheim.de) or Leonard Barolli (barolli@fit.ac.jp).

The papers should be written in English and the length should not exceed 6 pages (including figures and tables). Submission of a paper implies that should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and present the paper in the conference. Submitted papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition.

Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance. Proceedings of the workshops will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press.
